Texas Leadership believes wholeheartedly in the right of parents and guardians to make decisions for their own children regarding face coverings. However, we are also aware of the new mask mandate issued by the Tom Green County Health Authority, Dr. James Vretis (effective August 26 - October 15, 2021). Dr. Vretis is requiring masks for all education facilities located within Tom Green County where instruction is delivered and a student or staff member has tested positive for COVID-19.
Texas Leadership is currently in discussions with our legal team to determine our rights and obligations under this order. More information will be provided once we have determined a plan of action.
