Frequently Asked Questions
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Q: Do you offer tours of your campuses?
We absolutely do! Please contact the campus you would like to tour and simply set up a time.
Q: When is "Intent to Return" for current families?
If you are a current Texas Leadership family, an Intent to Return link will be emailed to you at the end of February each year. It will be sent to the primary email address you provided during the year’s registration. We’ve made it quick and easy to complete through PowerSchool.
Q: When is Open Enrollment for NEW families – 2026–2027 School Year?
Applications for new students for the 2026–2027 school year will be accepted from April 6th to April 17th. However, families may continue to submit applications after this period. If no seats are available, students will be placed on the waitlist.
Q: If I’m a current family, when do I complete “Returning Student Registration?”
While students complete the Intent to Return in February each year, the Returning Student Registration notice will be emailed to the primary email address in late April or early May. Registration must be completed by June 30th.
Q: How many spots do you typically have?
Texas Leadership continues to grow each year. The number of available spots varies annually and depends on the number of current students who confirm their intent to return.
Q: Can we transfer to Texas Leadership during the school year?
Yes — but it depends on space availability. We may have a waiting list for your student’s grade level. You’ll need to complete an online application, and the Registrar will follow up with you regarding its status. Transferring mid-year can also help ensure a spot for your student the following year.
Q: What do I need to bring with me to submit an application?
Nothing at first! The good news is that our entire application process is completed online. However, to finalize registration, you will need to provide the following:
-
Official birth certificate or another official document establishing student identity
-
Social Security card (if the student has one)
-
Immunization records
-
Proof of residence
-
Parent/guardian photo ID
-
Discipline form
-
Transcript for grades 8–12 or grade report for grades K–7
-
Court order(s), if applicable
Q: Can a student be denied admission?
Based on our charter, Texas Leadership may exclude students with a documented history of a criminal offense, juvenile court adjudication, or discipline problems.
Q: How does the lottery and waiting list process work?
Children of faculty and staff have first priority for placement.
Siblings of current Texas Leadership students are next in line.
During Open Enrollment, if multiple siblings apply for a grade with limited availability, a drawing will be held. After Open Enrollment, all applications are processed in the order received.
Texas Leadership uses a fair, transparent software system that complies with data privacy regulations. The system fills open positions using completed new student applications, and any remaining students are added to the waitlist in the order received.
When a spot becomes available, the parent or guardian of the next student on the waitlist will be notified via email or phone. Enrollment must then begin and be completed promptly to secure the spot.
Q: What happens if not all of my children get in?
First and foremost, Texas Leadership strives to accommodate all of our families. However, there may be times when one or more siblings are placed on a waitlist until space becomes available. Siblings of currently enrolled students do receive priority and are moved to the top of the waitlist for placement in the order they were received.
