Texas Leadership Charter Academy Gives to Hurricane Relief Efforts

Texas Leadership Charter Academy raised $7,745.00 through the “Eagle Strong Texas Strong” shirt fundraiser. The money raised will be donated to Samaritan’s Purse to aide those affected by Hurricane Harvey. It is great to see TLCA Eagles giving to those in need.

TLCA raised $3366.95 for the 2017 March of Dimes Campaign. Carmen Crane, TLCA Abilene Principal, serves on the Executive Leadership Team for March of Dimes. She set TLCA's goal this year at $2500.00. Congratulations to TLCA students for surpassing her goal as they continue giving back to their communities.

Junior High CAP Cadets Learning to Fly

The CAP cadets at the Junior High campus have been busy learning to fly. We learn aerospace in the classroom but also put our lessons to use in a CAP plane where the students are given lessons from a well trained CAP pilot. What an opportunity for these students!

Texas Leadership Charter Academy Joins Hurricane Harvey Relief Efforts

TLCA is supporting the Hurricane Harvey Disaster Relief Efforts. Today all TLCA campuses will begin preselling “Eagle Strong -Texas Strong” shirts for $10 each and will also be accepting donations. Order forms will be available at the front office of all campuses. Orders close Thursday, September 14th. 100% of the money raised will be sent directly to Samaritan’s Purse Hurricane Harvey Disaster Relief Fund. Please show your support by purchasing a shirt.

Caleb got 2nd chair out of 16 at the state competition in San Antonio. This means that out of all the trumpets in the A, AA, and AAA bands in the state, Caleb is second. Way to represent TLCA Caleb!

Caleb Ricks - Trumpet Solo received a 1 (qualified for State)
Jaydon Gomez, Tyler Stiles, Gabriel Rangel, and Zach Martinez
Sax Quartet received a 1 (qualified for State)
Tyler Stiles - Sax Solo received a 1 (not memorized)
Alexis Harper - Flute Solo received a 1 (not memorized)
Gabriel Rangel - Sax Solo received a 2 (not memorized)
These students have worked very hard to attain this distinction and
represented TLCA with all the standards this school stands for.
Thanks to Mr. Stewart and Mr. Patterson for their dedication to
the Band Program at TLCA.

TLCA High School Student Caleb Ricks Making School History

Congratulations to TLCA High School student Caleb Ricks for making school history.
He is the first student from TLCA to make State in
the ATSSB. He qualified for State by playing trumpet for the Association of Texas Small School Bands. He will attend the
TMEA Convention in San Antonio and play with the other State
Qualifiers in the Honors Band on Feb.11th, accompanied by
Homer Stewart, the TLCA Band Director. This is an fine example of someone who is dedicated and committed to the ideals that we at TLCA, support.

TLCA SENIOR LEAVES IT ALL ON THE FIELD AND BECOMES SCHOOL WINNER IN WENDY’S HIGH SCHOOL HEISMAN

San Angelo, Texas (October 17, 2016) – There are some students who set the bar. They work harder, show more passion and lead by example—in the classroom, on the field and within the community. Today, Wendy’s High School Heisman recognizes Justin Hedman from Texas Leadership Charter Academy and his dedication to never cutting corners by naming them School Winners.

Board Approves Student Drug Testing Policy

TLCA board of directors has approved and will be instituting a new random drug testing policy for all students who participate in TLCA extracurricular activities, or who drive onto and park on TLCA school property. A copy of this new policy will be posted under the compliance tab and in the board policy section of our TLCA website.

On Wednesday September 7th,2016 Children's Miracle Network Jean Day Fundraiser was held on all 3 campuses in San Angelo. We would like to Thank all the Students and Staff that participated in the 2016 Miracle Jean Day. TLCA of San Angelo raised a total of $2,192.00. All proceeds went to Children's Miracle Network.
