TLCA High School named one of the Best High Schools in the Nation

San Angelo, TX - The U.S. News and World Report has issued its list of the Best Performing High Schools in the United States for 2017.Texas Leadership Charter Academy High School is among 10 Concho Valley Schools that earned this national ranking and received a bronze medal. Schools are ranked based on their performance on state-academic tests and how well they prepare students for college.
We want to congratulate and recognize our High School teachers and staff on receiving this national award. We were able to achieve this as result of the dedication and passion our teachers have for our students and their education. According to the U.S. News and World Report, Bronze medals were awarded to only 16.8 percent of all high schools in America.

TLCA Jr High CyberPatriot Team Wins Texas 1st Place Award

The CyberPatriot field is divided into three divisions – the Open Division for public, private, and home school teams; the All Service Division for JROTC, Civil Air Patrol, and Naval Sea Cadet Corps teams; and the Middle School Division. Based on the results of two preliminary rounds, CyberPatriot X high school teams were categorized within their divisions as Platinum, Gold, or Silver Tier teams, with Platinum Tier teams representing the highest scoring teams.

Led by Coach Becca Levesque, the team of students from TLCA Junior High excelled in the CyberPatriot X State Round held Jan. 19-21, demonstrating teamwork, critical thinking skills, and technical knowledge key to a successful career in cybersecurity. The team’s performance earned it Texas’ 1st Place Award and a spot in the Platinum Tier Semifinal Round held this month.

Raining with Compassion

TLCA of San Angelo generated over $2,200 in one day, affording them an opportunity to donate much-needed resources to those recently affected by the flood in Sonora, Texas. The Administrators gave all students and employees a special "Jeans Dress-Day" allowing them to pool their resources in support of the small town. The approximate 3,000 residents living in Sonora are receiving prayers, donations, and assistance from many a concerned neighbor!

TLCA Continues to Giving Back

TLCA raised $3366.95 for the 2017 March of Dimes Campaign. Carmen Crane, TLCA Abilene Principal, serves on the Executive Leadership Team for March of Dimes. She set TLCA's goal this year at $2500.00. Congratulations to TLCA students for surpassing her goal as they continue giving back to their communities.

Junior High CAP Cadets Learning to Fly

The CAP cadets at the Junior High campus have been busy learning to fly. We learn aerospace in the classroom but also put our lessons to use in a CAP plane where the students are given lessons from a well trained CAP pilot. What an opportunity for these students!

Texas Leadership Charter Academy Joins Hurricane Harvey Relief Efforts

TLCA is supporting the Hurricane Harvey Disaster Relief Efforts. Today all TLCA campuses will begin preselling “Eagle Strong -Texas Strong” shirts for $10 each and will also be accepting donations. Order forms will be available at the front office of all campuses. Orders close Thursday, September 14th. 100% of the money raised will be sent directly to Samaritan’s Purse Hurricane Harvey Disaster Relief Fund. Please show your support by purchasing a shirt.
